The Year Of The Rabbit
Davis and I hung out with the Year Of The Rabbit guys last Friday after their show at Stubb's. In case you don't know, YOTR is Ken Andrews from Failure's new band (Davis and I are both big Failure fans). Tim Dow from KC (formerly in Shiner and Season To Risk) plays drums in the band. The show was really good, the guys were cool and their pretty purple bus was fabulous. It was good to see Tim doing so well for himself. The band's first album comes out July 15th so check it out.

On the road, can 2 days feel like 2 weeks? possibly.
We hit the road for a couple of out of town shows this weekend. We got more than we bargained for with two really fun shows and much mischief in between. In Kansas City we played with a new band called Shots Fired who were fucking awesome. The show was at a fairly new club called Bender's that is run by an old friend in KC named Kirk. If for some reason you end up in KC, make sure you check the bar out - stiff drinks, great jukebox, etc. The Dallas show was fun and we met some cool new peeps. Steve-O once again tried to kill us with alcohol poisoning at The Bar of Soap.
We also answered - without even trying - the age old question: Can two days on the road really feel like two weeks?
The answer: Yes, if you include most or all of the following.
You have 4 or more guys in an SUV and plan to drive over 1,500 miles in 2 days
At least one of the guys buys nearly a gallon of whiskey in a plastic bottle and vows to drink it all before the trip is over
One or more of the guys drinks, smokes and snorts every chemical they can find
The collective sleep hours for the entire trip are under 8
Two or more of the guys get into an altercation (with one another or otherwise) on the first night and much blood is shed
Said blood shed is eventually stopped by napkins and hankerchiefs instead of stitches
The guy who bought the gallon of whiskey and vowed to drink it nearly does (between vodka and beers inside the bars at night)
Certain regular medications are not regularly taken
There is an all night rave held directly above you while you try to get a few hours of sleep on at least one of the nights
The wife of the opening band's lead singer offers to show her tits to anyone in order to help sell your merchandise
At least one of the guys has a gastrointestinal disorder and continually eats the wrong foods (remember, 1,500 miles equals at least 25 hours in the vehicle)
At least one of the four start the day with a shot of whiskey from the plastic jug he's been keeping at arms length the entire trip
So there it is. If you don't believe us, find 3 of your friends and give it a try. you may have to do some research to encounter all of the above but its worth it in the end. And don't forget to rock hard at least 45 minutes per night.
For those of you in Austin, we'll see you Sunday night at Emo's for the Elliott show, you'll be kicking yourself if you miss it.

OK Go and Dave Grohl
Sunday's reception at the Corruption/OK Go show was great and we thank all of those who came out for the energy you brought to the show. We did some filmming and may have some video posted on the site in the not too distant future. The OK GO guys were real cool, thanks to Dan from OK GO for letting Matt abuse his drum kit.
I forgot to mention that Davis and I hung out with one of the coolest personalities in rock about 2 weeks ago. No, not Axl Rose, but rather Dave "drink all the beer you want" Grohl. Dave could not have been cooler, in fact, he spun some of the rough mix from the new Killing Joke album he played on for us. The shit sounded good. His drumming was as huge as ever on the stuff so look for that album. The Foo Fighters rocked really hard, not a clunker in the set.
Contrary to the rumors, Davis did NOT trash Cave In's -the Foo's opening band's- dressing room. While its true the man has a wild side, he maintains his innocence and the Cave In guys are being mysteriously quiet about their dressing room that night.
We're in Dallas and KC this weekend, then back at Emo's on Sunday May 18th with Elliott. See you at the rock shows.
Tell everyone, spread the word, Corruption Is King.
